About Brittany
Dog trainer, veterinary background, and lifelong dog lover — guided every day by her Great Dane, Oakley.
My journey into dog training didn't start where you might expect — it began in veterinary medicine. I originally went to school to become a large animal veterinarian, and after moving to North Carolina, I worked as a veterinary assistant. It was during that time that I discovered something that would completely change my path.
Every day in veterinary medicine, I saw dogs struggling with behavioral challenges — and just as often, I saw owners feeling overwhelmed, confused, or out of options. Too frequently, the conversation jumped straight to management or medication without fully exploring the "why" behind the behavior.
"I realized there was a gap: a need for someone who understood both the medical side of animal care and the science of behavior."
That realization led me to dog training.
At the heart of everything I do is my Great Dane, Oakley. He inspires me every single day to grow, learn, and become a better trainer. This website is, in many ways, an homage to him — because without Oakley, I wouldn't be on this path.
"This journey started with Oakley — my Oak Tree — and it continues with every dog I have the privilege to help."
My goal is to help bridge the gap between veterinary knowledge and behavioral understanding. I work with dog owners to look at the full picture — helping you understand your dog, navigate challenging behaviors, and make thoughtful, informed decisions about the best path forward.
While medication can sometimes play a role, I believe deeply in the power of training, communication, and building a stronger relationship between you and your dog.
Whether you're dealing with a difficult behavior or simply want to better understand your dog, I'm here to guide you with compassion, clarity, and practical solutions.
I work with dog owners to look at the full picture — not just the behavior in front of us, but the dog's history, health, environment, and the relationship between dog and owner. Every case is different, and every dog deserves an individualized approach.
Come work with me under the oak tree.
A background in veterinary medicine means I look at behavior through a clinical as well as a scientific lens — addressing root causes, not just surface symptoms.
Every session is designed to strengthen the bond between you and your dog. Understanding builds trust — and trust builds lasting, real-world change.
Rooted in compassion, grounded in science. Inspired daily by Oakley, I bring patience and genuine expertise to every dog I have the privilege to work with.
Whether you're just starting out or navigating a real challenge, I'd love to meet you and your dog where you are — and help you find a path forward together.
